Circle Tours

The Wine Country Inn is ideally located to explore many of the other beauties of Northern California. This can be done by either staying at the Inn and venturing out, or by including the Inn as part of your Northern California excursion. Though most folks choose to drive themselves (there are no tour buses or the like) we have included a couple of limo operators. It is certainly a great way to go if there are two or three couples.

Backroads Winery Tours

There are many ways to visit the little tucked away vineyards. The above limo links are certainly one way to go. We at The Wine Country Inn can help a lot as well, but by far, the funnest way is by Wine Country Jeep Tours. These folks will take you as far as you can go into the mountain vineyards to find the little backwoods wineries.

Rugged Coast and Majestic Redwoods

The Inn is about an hour and a half from the famous California coastline. Directly on the route to the coast is Armstrong Woods State Park which has some of the most spectacular old growth Redwoods in the region. The very cute fishing village and artist colony of Bodega Bay is well worth a stop... Then head back to The Wine Country Inn through the rolling apple country of Sebastopol.

This is a wonderful day long circle tour ending up back at The Wine Country Inn or you could stay over night in the region at The Inn at Occidental or Sonoma Coast Villa.

Winter Mustard

The inland coastal valleys of Northern California are covered in a blanket of vivid yellow and green mustard in the late Winter (March is usually the best month). Some years are better than others so please feel free to call to see how the year in progressing. We can customize a circle tour to maximize the color. If it is a good year, it is definitely worth a special trip.

Spring Wildflowers

A month or two after the Mustard season comes the wildflower season. Though the vineyards of the Napa Valley are too tilled and tended to allow for wildflowers, the surrounding valleys can be quite spectacular. Again, the quality varies from year to year, so give us a call to get an update.
