Waking Up at The Wine Country Inn

  • morning

Every morning is bursting with possibilities.

We thought you might want to take a gander at some of the options The Wine Country Inn has to offer. Please take some time to peruse our services shown at the left.

Remember, the winery tasting rooms don’t open until 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. so you have time to relax, have a leisurely breakfast, take a dip or a jog, get a massage, or ask us to help you plan your day.

The Smell of Breakfast

Great food and wine are important parts of The Wine Country Inn experience.

With our flock of over 100 chickens, a quarter acre of eatable gardens and an Innkeeper who would rather be experimenting in the kitchen than almost anywhere else, well, we take our Full Buffet Breakfast seriously. Served daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. you’ll find a tempting array of fresh fruit, homemade breads, a nutritious and tasty daily egg dish, goodies from our Bagel Bar or Waffle Station, along with our world famous (really, folks from around the world rave about this!) homemade granola. We also have an assortment of teas and juices, and of course never-ending pots of delicious coffee. You can breakfast in our Common Room, on the outdoor patio or take it back to your room.

Breakfast served daily Buffet Style from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A Morning Stroll

Hand in hand, down a cobbled walkway with stonewalls holding back the lavender or rosemary. Is this what the doctor ordered?

Many of our plants have nameplates, so guests enjoy exploring the flower gardens or visiting our organic eatable garden, where we grow much of the produce used in our breakfast and afternoon appetizers.

Napa Valley can get quite warm during the summer day, making mornings a perfect time to stroll around our grounds or down the quiet Lodi Lane. If you promise not to wake up Mamma Smith (she lives in the house right up the driveway) or pick any of our precious grapes you could even walk through our vineyard. The grapes go into one of those Cult Wines called Hourglass so every grape that goes into a mouth costs a buck or two in lost wine (at $155 per bottle).

A Dip & A Soak

A pool with a view!

A walk through our olive orchard and past our eatable gardens, a lovely vineyard view the whole way, is there a better way to start your day? The pool, heated but still invigorating, is perfect for a few lazy laps. The hot tub, beckoning … offering to ease those morning muscles. The sun, gentle and warming, helping to blast those morning cobwebs. Vacation! You’ve got the time! Take it!

Socialize! Or Not!

“I actually encourage my staff to take risks when getting to know the guests,” Innkeeper Jim explains. “Humor is a great ice-breaker but it can also get you into trouble sometimes, and putting your real self out there to total strangers can be scary. But if you risk it, they probably won’t be total strangers for long.”

The Wine Country Inn’s social atmosphere is built around our Common Room, where we serve a fun and tasty Full Buffet Breakfast every morning and we host a lively and entertaining Wine Social every afternoon. The Innkeeper and his staff specialize in making everyone feel at home and a part of a special Napa Valley experience. Lively discussions of the day’s touring or the evening’s dining choices are not uncommon during the Wine Social (4:30 – 6:00 p.m. every evening) and though breakfast might be more subdued, the staff can many times be seen flitting from table to table dispensing their Napa Valley knowledge.

HOWEVER, if you have come to the Napa Valley to find quiet and seclusion, we encourage that as well. Bringing breakfast back to your room is fun, finding one of our hidden garden spots is encouraged or purchasing a bottle of wine and having your own wine social in the privacy of your room could be just the ticket.

The choice is yours!
